Repentance and confession are two of the most powerful tools we have in any relationship. To repent simply means to change your mind. To confess is then to "say the same thing". Thus repentance before God means to change our mind and then we confess His version of reality with our mouths. This is the beginning of life change. There is coming a time in the Church when we will understand that simply diagnosing the problems of the world around us is not enough. We will, as one body, rise up and repent in our own lives of the inconsistency and hypocrisy that is existing side by side with our social commentary. This is the way we rise.
