When I was going to college in the Los Angeles area I used to spend a lot of weekends with some of my good friends at a very well respected Christian college (free food). I must admit I was always a little jealous of these students who had the opportunity to come to school and learn the deeper truths about God on a daily basis. But it turned out there was a possible downside.

While visiting one day I chanced upon a group of seniors who were religion majors, arguing about some deep philosophical theory about God that nearly wiped the Gospel out of existence. It was then that I realized we can do one of three things with our faith and belief systems:

1. Nothing

2. Create a religion that can be talked about, thought about and philosophized over until the cows come home and we feel far superior to our fellow man.

3. Take the living Word of God to the lost people of this world and do what Jesus commanded us to do. Taking the Good News of
Jesus Christ to every corner of the world, making disciples of all nations.

I pray that you never know so much that you forget how simple the saving message of Jesus Christ is, because without that... theology means nothing.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” Romans 1:16

(Technical note: Jesus really did come to bring us theology in the sense that He is the ultimate study of God, being Himself God incarnate, but I think you know what this song is really saying. That being said, here we go.)

Theology

Do you believe in the dispensations?

Do you believe in predestination?

Do you believe that faith heals?

Do you believe the word “yowm” means one day?

Or is there something to what scientists say?

These things can change your life.
